Extra Fun: Open Houses with Choir & Drama Performances, Field Trips, Holiday Parties, Family Picnics, Living by the Spirit Days, Outreach Opportunities & More!
In addition to co-op classes, extra activities are planned throughout the school year and vary from year to year. Traditionally, HEA hosts an Open House at the end of each semester which showcases the learning that took place during that timeframe. This is typically an evening for extended family and friends to enjoy a choir and handbells concert, drama performances, and many times also includes class presentations. After the performances, families are invited to stay for refreshments and peruse tables filled with projects from the classes held that semester. Other long standing traditions of HEA include a field trip to a local Pumpkin Patch, Christmas and Valentines Day Parties, a Fall Family Fun Night to kick off the Panthers Athletic Season, and Living by the Spirit Days where we live out our faith by dressing up according to a truth found in scripture. We also seek to bless those around us through outreach opportunities like caroling at nursing homes and giving to local charities. While certain details vary from year to year, one thing always stays the same — homeschool families love having fun together!
